World Twenty20 2016: Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh partnership crucial as India face Bangladesh

New Delhi: India will hope the duo of Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh stand tall once again if required against Bangladesh in the upcoming World Twenty20 Super 10, Group 2 encounter.

Kohli has been India's best batsman of late and has taken the T20I stage by storm. India's success in the three-match series win against Australia earlier this year, followed by the Asia Cup, owes a lot to Kohli. The star player has carried on the form in the World T20I also.

Against Pakistan he played a match-winning innings and won the game for India on March 19. Against New Zealand too, he had got a start but fell short. Kohli's application and desire has been the key to his success.

On the other hand, Yuvraj Singh has played some crucial innings since his return and was emphatic against Pakistan in both the Asia Cup and the World T20. Yuvraj and Kohli has added valuable partnerships in both games to lift India from difficult position.

The veteran southpaw, who was in need of confidence, can claim he is getting that in abundance after crucial knocks in the last few games. Yuvi has spent some desired time on the pitch and his experience adds to the bonus in India's batting.

Yuvi is a fantastic player of spin bowling and that will be handy against Bangladesh. With Indian openers not quite up to the mark in the coveted tournament, a lot will depend on these two to bail out India if needed once again.

The strength of Kohli and Yuvi's partnership in the middle is that their ability to be vocal during their time at the crease and helping each other. Yuvi's ability to get a free flow with the bat after taking crucial time in the beginning is a vital asset.

India face Bangladesh in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
