Oculus VR begins taking pre-orders for Rift virtual reality headsets

Oculus VR began taking pre-orders for its highly anticipated Rift virtual reality headsets on Wednesday as CES kicked off.

It costs USD 599 and will be shipped to 20 countries starting March 28. It will also be in select retailers beginning in April.

The Oculus Rift includes a headset with built-in headphones and mic, sensor and an Xbox One Controller. It also includes the Oculus Remote, which is a new device designed to make VR navigation easier and allows users to browse the Oculus store.

All pre-orders of Oculus Rift will include the games "Lucky's Tale" and "Eve: Valkyrie," and reserve a "place in line" for purchasing Touch, Oculus's own pair of light, handheld controllers designed to be available for pre-order later this year.

Facebook bought Oculus VR last year in a deal valued at $2 billion.
